About usBuilt on aroha.
We're a community charity with a simple belief: our elders deserve to feel connected, valued and cared for, every single day.

From a community group to a charitable trust.
Aroha Seniors began as a community group, started by people who could see how many older people around them were spending long days on their own.
The idea was simple: bring people together. Share kai and kōrero. Get out and about. Keep in touch with those who can't easily leave home, and help people find their way through the services and systems that can make later life feel complicated.
In 2025 we were registered as a charity, and in 2026 we became the Aroha Seniors Charitable Trust. It's a step that lets us work with funders and partners, grow our programmes and reach more people who need us.

Aroha is at the heart of everything we do, and three values guide how we do it.

Everyone is welcomed warmly and looked after, whoever they are and wherever they're from.
We build real relationships, so no one feels like a stranger for long.
We stand together as one community, across cultures and generations.
Here for the people who need it most.
