What we do

Ways we bring people together.

From gatherings, outings and Meals on Wheels to a friendly phone call or help with a new tablet, here's how we keep older people in our community connected.

01

Friendship gatherings

Regular get-togethers where the kettle's always on. Share kai and kōrero, pick up the poi, play games, enjoy some music and make new friends.

  • A warm welcome, whether it's your first time or your fiftieth
  • Shared kai, cups of tea and plenty of conversation
  • Poi, games, music, crafts and celebrations through the year
Good for: anyone who'd like more company
02

Meals on Wheels

Every fortnight we deliver Meals on Wheels to people in our community: good kai brought to your door, with a friendly face and a chat.

  • Delivered every fortnight
  • Ordered through our Kai Manager, Korina Grace
  • A friendly hello at the door, too
Good for: anyone who'd like a meal brought to them
03

Outings & group trips

Getting out and about can be hard when you don't drive or don't want to go alone. Our group outings mean everyone can enjoy a day out, together.

  • Day trips to places of interest around Auckland
  • Planned with older people in mind: pace, seating and accessibility
  • A lovely way to meet new people
Good for: anyone who misses getting out
04

Companionship & check-ins

For people who find it hard to leave home, a regular friendly call or visit can make all the difference to their week.

  • Friendly phone calls to check in and have a chat
  • Visits for people who are housebound or recovering
  • A link back to the wider group when you're ready
Good for: people living alone or at home most of the time
05

Digital confidence

Phones, tablets and the internet can keep you close to whānau near and far, once you know how. We help patiently, at your pace.

  • Video calls with family here and overseas
  • Messaging, photos and Facebook
  • Staying safe from scams online
Good for: beginners and anyone who's ever felt stuck
06

Advice, information & advocacy

Getting older can come with a lot of forms, phone calls and systems. We help people understand their options and connect with the right services, and we speak up for our elders.

  • Help finding the right health, community and government services
  • Support with forms, letters and appointments
  • A voice for older people in our community
Good for: anyone unsure where to turn
07

Disability & wellbeing support

We're here for vulnerable adults and adults living with disability too, and for the whānau and carers who support them.

  • Inclusive activities everyone can enjoy
  • Connection and support for carers
  • Help connecting with specialist services
Good for: adults living with disability and their whānau
